Teacher fined RM16,000 over criminal force against 3 students

Judge Tasnim Abu Bakar imposed the sentence after Asyraf Ahmad, 36, pleaded guilty to four alternative charges. “The court accepts your plea, finds you guilty, and convicts you of the offences,” Tasnim said. Asyraf was fined RM4,000 for each charge, with each fine carrying an additional six-month jail term if he failed to pay it. He was charged with using criminal force against three female students, aged 14, 15 and 16, with the intention of outraging their modesty. The offences were allegedly committed in the school’s spa and classroom in April and May 2025. One of the incidents also took place inside a car at Km242.1 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) northbound near Rembau between 9am and 9.20am on May 17, 2025. He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence, a fine, whipping, or any two of the punishments, upon conviction. Deputy public prosecutor Norazihah Asmuni prosecuted, while Asyraf was represented by lawyer P Bhaerabii.
